Speaking of PgSQL on OS X, it looks like Fink is still a recommended  
way to install it:
- http://developer.apple.com/internet/opensource/postgres.html

The other option is a package such as Marc Liyanage's:
- http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/postgresql/
(he mentions other possibilities on that page)
Or Druware's:
- http://postgresqlformac.com/

I'm retesting the whole lot under OS X and plan to update the  
README.osx in libdbi-drivers too.
