With respect to names and auto-completion, how are you now planning to 
deal with characters internally?

I ask because my primary reason for wanting auto-completion is to 
ensure consistency (and ease of entry) for creator/author names.  I 
don't care about storing characters, and I wouldn't want them to show 
up in an auto-complete list.
