No. We're talking about removing the use of libevent because libevent is rare. Your library is likely much rarer than libevent. Sure, useful functionality, but how how many competent programmers haven't implemented such a thing in the past? This is a grade-school level type experience. I also note that glib provides exactly the same functionality, and libglib is very commonly available. I have to imagine that the common library plib also likely has it.
