Today LG3D-LiveCD 3.0 has been released. Based on SLAX 5.1.8 this LiveCD showcases Sun Microsystem's stunning 3D desktop Project Looking Glass 3D (LG3D).

New in this release:

- includes the first stable LG3D release (1.0)
- improved stability and reliability
- early prototype of harddisk installer
- updated and simplfied project homepage

The first development release of LG3D LiveCD 2.4, a SLAX-based distribution showcasing Sun Microsystem's Project Looking Glass, is now available for testing:

Note: Release 2.4-test1 is - as the name says - only a testing release. Please file bug-reports to christian.ost at gmail.com. Most probably NVIDIA cards will cause problems, but I have currently no machine with a NVIDIA video card available for testing.... read more

lg3d is an innovative opensource 3D-desktop project started by Sun Microsystems last year.

Now you can enjoy this new desktop experience without installation from the SLAX-based LiveCD.

The 2.2 release of our livecd will be uploaded this week to sourceforge.net.

It solves a few bugs concerning Xorg configuration.
