#1 tar.gz vs bz2

Release does not extract under SlackWare nor Windows
properly under bz2

SlackWare and Arkiver have a hard time with this
ending; the cure being to convert it to tar.gz and
Windows WinZip has no facilities for extracing bz2

Just an observation, perhaps a request, that gunzip
file ending standards are more distributable than
RedHat's bz2.
