**Welcome to the Letterdans. **

This project was started to help excercise a child of six that learns to read.

By presenting the known words as a mix of letters (of to words), the child is encouraged to distinct the letters and form the words by drag'n'drop. (What in itself helps fine coordination of the mousemovents on the computer).

By the random mix of choosen words (from the initial small pool), it is less boring and predectable than reading or excercising in the paper book of the school.

The set of words can allways be extended when new words are learned at school. This can be done together with the child: type the new word as name of an empty .txt file, and look on the internet for an image that fits this description. Store the image with the same name and extention jpg or png. Copy both files to the data directory of Letterdans, and the new words will be available in Letterdans (the next time you start).

For the beginning the only reward is thumbs up, and the "wrong answer message" is brought by an image of thinking (a much more positive message).

Probably this kind of program is only interesting for a child during the first months of learning to read, but it gives parents the opportunity to let the child play with the assignment.
