RC2 is a major rewrite,
We've made the whole discussion workflow based and put skinning into XHTML to make it easier. This is still based on on Cocoon 2.0.4 where we have found a memory leak in a production instance, we will be porting to 2.1.3 where the leak doesnt happen, so RC2 should probably just be a preview :)
We have released a RC1 for Discussion with workflow. The realease is configured as a discussion board with workflow managing the moderation. It uses Coccoon and filestore (no database). The release is source, but there is no java to compile other than a single controller class, everything else is XSLT or XML. Comments would be welcomed
We are just starting the thinking surrounding a next generation of collaboration server. Please look in the forums for discussion, any contributions/ideas welcome.
We have uploaded our version of lets talk to CVS which includes a discussion module and a review module. Unfortunately this version is currently in flux between a fully distributed JAXM/SOAP version to a JBOSS targetted JMS version. The net result is that the current HEAD in the CVS is almost certainly broken.
The areas that are known to need some work on are JMS Deployment and properties loaded via the classloader.
This should remove any dependencis on a jaxm-provider within JBOSS, although we have had one of these working.
We will be submitting our current source tree in the next few days. This will be a Beta release of the original LETS Talk comunity software. It is intended as a starting point for this projects, rather than a ending point. The intention of this project is to develop a next generation of comunity communications software that goes beyond simple discussion.
The beta software to be uploaded should be considered a talking point rather than the end product.
