Latex supports the creation of indexes, but the author needs to tag all words (i.e., the single occurences) to index with an index command. A wizard that first lets developers select the words to index and then shows all occurences in the text and let the user decide which occurence should be index could help in constructing the index. Further, when an initial index is created, the tool could ask the user when an indexed word is typed in, if it also should be indexed or not.
