#58 General memory overhead

The GCK uses an awful lot of memory right now: 110 MB
when I last looked on it. That is more than the
double-amount of what standard OpenOffice uses.
For slower machines this will be a heavy burden.

That said in the near future we need some testing on
slower machines.
This is a long-term task I guess.
