    Lessfs is able to mount my test file systems without warnings, but even after a clean unmount I get this unexpected error message when trying to analyze some of the TCH files:

    $ tcbmgr inform blockdata.tch
    tcbmgr: -: 5: invalid meta data

    $ tcbmgr inform blockusage.tch
    tcbmgr: -: 5: invalid meta data

    $ tcbmgr inform dirent.tcb
    path: dirent.tcb
    database type: btree
    additional flags:
    comparison function: lexical
    max leaf member: 128
    max node member: 256
    leaf number: 1
    node number: 0
    bucket number: 1151
    alignment: 256
    free block pool: 1024
    inode number: 11403271
    modified time: 2009-05-07T15:54:19+01:00
    options: large
    record number: 73
    file size: 15360

    $ tcbmgr inform fileblock.tch
    tcbmgr: -: 5: invalid meta data

    $ tcbmgr inform hardlink.tcb
    path: hardlink.tcb
    database type: btree
    additional flags:
    comparison function: lexical
    max leaf member: 128
    max node member: 256
    leaf number: 1
    node number: 0
    bucket number: 1151

    inode number: 11403272
    modified time: 2009-05-07T15:54:19+01:00
    options: large
    record number: 0
    file size: 14080

    $ tcbmgr inform metadata.tcb
    tcbmgr: -: 5: invalid meta data

    $ tcbmgr inform symlink.tch
    tcbmgr: -: 5: invalid meta data

    tokyocabinet-1.4.17 was configured with
    --host=x86-redhat-linux-gnu
    --build=x86-redhat-linux-gnu
    --target=x86-redhat-linux
    --libdir=/usr/lib
    --enable-off64
    --enable-fastest

    Settings in lessfs.cfg and command-line options for lessfs do not appear to have any effect on this issue.
    Note that DIRENT and HARDLINK always seem to work, the others never do.

      Files ending with .tch are hash databases. In this case you should use tchmgr instead of tcbmgr.
      pluto:/data/dta # tchmgr inform blockdata.tch
      path: blockdata.tch
      database type: hash
      additional flags:
      bucket number: 1179641
      alignment: 1
      free block pool: 1
      inode number: 11
      modified time: 2009-05-07T16:34:31+01:00
      options: large
      record number: 60
      file size: 9598388
