When I save my preferences in 1.1.12, I get this weird error message:

DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xe9270a

Twice.

Prefs are saved correctly, so this seems harmless.

Here is the complete error message:

DBD::Pg::st execute failed: ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xe9270a
HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encoding expected by the server, which is controlled by "client_encoding".
DBD::Pg::db do failed: ERROR: invalid byte sequence for encoding "UTF8": 0xe9
HINT: This error can also happen if the byte sequence does not match the encoding expected by the server, which is controlled by "client_encoding".
Preferences saved!

This was because the charset of the database was SQL_ASCII when it should have been LATIN1.
