On my local development/test machine, I often see the following in the Apache error log:

[Thu May 30 19:45:28 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Thu May 30 19:45:28 2013 Sysconfig.pm created tempdir /tmp/ledgersmb rc=0
[Thu May 30 19:45:39 2013] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] DBI connect('dbname=kaylah','',...) failed: fe_sendauth: no password supplied at LedgerSMB.pm line 986, referer: http://localhost/ledgersmb/login.pl

Is this a problem? What causes it to occur and how to fix it?

What seems to be going on here based on the connection string is that we are trying to connect before we get a username. This probably has a lot to do with http auth. The message is safe to ignore but let's fix it to keep spurious errors out of the logs.
