Hi. I'm new around here. My name is Bruno Soares (as you can see) and I'm brazilian. I work and study at Pontifcia Universidade Catlica de Minas Gerais. I'm writing because me and my pal are developping an instant messenger to work with learnloop. Actually we are doing it using learnloop 1 databases. We are using jabber protocol and java programming language to do it. The first version is almost done. If someone wants to know more and help us with our project feel free to do it. ;-)
Our objective is to develop (someday) an interface that offer learnloop users to do school and programming activities, specially, using a tool with online interactivity and real time between users. It's like type a text or a program code watching everybody say what is wrong in your text (in real time). I think it will be possible in a near future.
Anyone who wants to know more about LIM (LearnLoop Instant Messenger) contact us by email (soaresbruno@gmail.com). Thanks everybody and I hope you have been interested in our project.

This sounds great.
An instant messenger inside LL is a great idea.
There is another subproject to LL called ll2rts (LearnLoop 2 RealTime Server) that has a similar purpose. The ll2rts is made for realtime comunication modules like chats och whiteboards using Flash and ActiveScripts XMLSockets but not for direct user communication like the LIM. (try the ll2rts on http://onnerby.se/~daniel/learnloop2/ under testworkspace/flashchat). The ll2rts development is for the moment stalled.
Using the jabber protocol is also a great idea so that the users can use any kind of client that supports jabber (I personaly like the Miranda IM).
Please let us know if you want to join the LL project on SF (for cvs access etc) and keep us updated on your progress
:)

Ok... When we realease the LIM's first version I will tell you. Actually we are fixing some little problems with the gui. When we finish with this, I will send you a new message here and I expect you can let us join LL project. Here in "Pontifcia Universidade Catlica de Minas Gerais" we made some changes in the original LL. We can create an account to you in our LL (with teacher privileges) then you'll be able to see our changes and we can together implement this changes in the original LL.
