I uploaded a chat module in the cvs according what was in the roadmap, it uses flat files and supports smilies. I tested it on Mozilla Firefox 0.8 and Internet Explorer 6....
It's working but it still needs some work, some questions are, should be just one chat room per workspace or should it be better to be able to add several chatrooms?
How much time should the data in the chatroom files last? How often should it be refreshed? sugestions, additional options?
