On
http://ldview.sourceforge.net/Downloads.html#Linux4200B1
there is header "Ubuntu 11.10.
I tried the dpkg and it works on Ubuntu 14.04 (amd64) as well.
So you can remove the "(11.10)" string from the header.

Also, the documentation about source code compilation is outdated:
http://ldview.sourceforge.net/Downloads.html#SourceCode

I think this part should be deleted:
"Note: it will amost certainly not work using a 64-bit compilation. As far as I know it's never been tried, true, but neither has its source code been sanitized for 64-bit compilation. Hopefully this will be corrected at some point in the future."

Proof: you provide 64bit binary packages for Ubuntu and I did not encounter any problem when compiling on 64bit Ubuntu.

Also, according to http://ldview.sourceforge.net/ChangeHistory.html
since version 4.1, Qt4 is supported. If I had found this note sooner, it would save me 1 hour of searching how to get Qt3 development libraries working on newer Ubuntu versions :-)

For anybody who needs to compile LDView on current Ubuntu or Debian, these are the libraries I have installed for successful compilation:

apt-get install build-essential zlib1g-dev libpng12-dev libboost-all-dev libboost1.54-dev libjpeg8-dev freeglut3-dev mesa-common-dev libqt4-opengl-dev libqt4-opengl libqt4-gui

(although I don't guaranteee the list is complete).
