[Ldapdns-users] resolving conflict

It seems to me that I cannot have the ldapdns as a primary server.  I have added my hosts to openldap and can ping them through ldapdns.

The problem is when I ping an internet address like google.com (which would be in my secondary dns server, somewhere else).  I get unknown. 

Now when I make ldapdns a secondary server I have no problem with internet address and my local addresses.

Can someone help?  I would like ldapdns to be a primary server.
