Hi!
If you are referring to a Posix account, then there is actually no such option. If you are using shadow account, you can set account expires option to an older date so that account is immediately expired. Some tools simulate this option by inserting a ‘!’ or some other sign in front of a user password so that the account becomes effectively blocked. If you want to re-enable the account you just remove ‘!’ and user can again use the account.
