my HTPC is a Silverstone LC03v, Asus P4P800 e-deluxe mobo and have the same ongoing problem. Im using v5.4

It will work for a while before getting garbled text.

It can be accelerated by loading an intensive program i have notice.

I have even fitted a Magnetic Ferro-core to eliminate any local RF interferance to no avail.

Please advise what else i can try?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Guys,

I have some very interesting information regarding the garbled text and i hope that this will help the crew here get around it.

10 hours ago, i loaded logmein (REmote Desktop) software onto my HTPC which is running a custom resolution of approx 1880x1040 @30hz. I rebooted to finalise the install and since then, i just have a black screen.

The interesting thing is that LCDSmartie loaded and continues to run perfectly, whilst the rest of the PC is useless because, I presume the video drivers did not load correctly.

The bottom line here is that this is the first time it has run for this long without getting garbled text. So i presume that once the video drivers load up, it ends up corrupting the LCD Smartie data somehow.

Im about to reload XPpro sp2 again to get the use of my HTPC back, but i think this info should help find the cause of the corruption. Possibly something related to video overlay???

    Please let me know.

Update: Well i managed to get into safe mode and re-install the ATi drivers again, which was the cause of my black screens. Saved me a rebuild luckily.

Anyways, i hope this still helps.
