I can get an output of song and artist on my LCD when using Winamp but I am having trouble programming the keys(4) to the sides of the LCD. I can program some functions such as play/pause, exit, stop but I haven't been able to figure out how to program keys so I can search and select folders/songs or playlists on the LCD screen raher than the main monitor. Also I would like to be able to close Win XP with the buttons. I am using LCDCenter036, LCDplugin_bin_o.6.3a as well as Smarties. Would the plugin Albumlistplugin help?

The AlbumList plugin provides sorted Artist and Album information. There isn't a real search function yet, it's only possible to browse through either a directory structure or the songs from loaded playlists.
System shutdown, standby etc. is located under:
Button assignment dialog: Default action: 'System: ###'
Attention: those function haven't been tested yet with the parallel input!
After the 0.6.4 release I will verify/fix/simplify the parallel button input because it seems there are some problems or misunderstandings... (I haven't tested/used it myself for a very loooong time...)
Please post your results if it works or not...
thanks
Markus

I guess I'm a little thick. I can find a button assignment for Default action marked "Jump to number KEY####KEY" but nothing marked 'System: ###'. Will I be able to search and select playlists, songs or open entire directories into Winamp? When is 0.6.4 release coming out? I know 0.6.3a is released as Freeware and I do appreciate it, but I am finding it somewhat difficult to set up the Menu structure to make use of the buttons on the LCD. I am quite willing to wait a while and pay for software that functions. I think this piece of software is excellent but hard to implement presently.THANKS for your response

I have found more functionality in the plugin this weekend. I am able to shut Win XP down, play songs, pause etc. It doesn't seem to recognize any Winamp playlists though or find artist or album. I will continue playing around with the program.

I have installed the plugin into Winamp. I have configured it to use e:\celtic as a test search path. This contains all my Celtic music organized in folders by artist/album/songs. When I search the e:\ drive using show browser-select it will open as far as artist thenit doesn't open any album choices but skips to 2 songs within one of the artist's album folders. I haven't figured the button allocation correctly I think. I have C -Show/Hide menu-Menu select-none;B-Show Browser-Menu Select-None;A-None-Menu:next letter-None;E-None-None-None;D-Play/Pause-None-Play/Pause. I really just want to be able to search through directories and play either the contents of entire folders (i.e. albums or artist's songs) or playlists contained in the album directory(my playlists were made by Winamp 3 or CDEX). Beyond that I would like to be able to control Winamp by the buttons with at least play/pause, skip, repeat, stop, previous and next functions.

I realise you probably don't have time to answer all my queries but I have two questions. When is the new release due and will the present or future release be able to use b4u playlists. I started saving all my playlists in this format because it is the default in Winamp 3, before I realised that it probably isn't used with Winamp 2. I have all my music on my main computer( which has Winamp 3) and plan to transfer all these files to my MP3 computer (which will be tied into the stereo and has Winamp 2)

I guess I can answer one of my own questions. B4U playlists are not compatible with Winamp 2.91 so they will not function with the LCD . I haven't had much time to play around with the button allocation on my computer so I am at a standstill. Still hoping that the revised 0.6.4 program will be out soon.
