Don't forget to include the display size, interface type (4 / 8 bit, shift register or split screens), OS, and if possible the manufacturer with model number and where you bought it. Don't forget to include the timing settings if you changed them and the LCD worked afterwards. Also any further information you think is useful might help to improve the driver or help other people.
Thank you

Seiko L4034 4x40, also from eio.com, 8bit, Split Screen, win 98 PII, 400 works perfectly, initialises automaticly now :) Timings: Polling = 5 Refresh = 10 Occasionly though, in the title (for me: row 1, centered, scrolling, Artist - Title a random letter or ` sign is displayed... hmmm???) Also, as nobody said, could you expand the spec for 40 characters? Also, perhaps a section where you can choose where to display the spec? i.e. on lines 2 & 3 so on line 1 I can have the tile, and on line 4 I can have the time left etc? -Nick-

2x16 with paraller interface. Don't know the maker/model of LCD but 2nd circuit is from Oki (another being Hitachi HD44780). Using Windows XP final release. Works like a charm, _but_..
After few hours LCD goes crazy, second line disappears and the first line is jibberish. I'm thinking of running Winamp in Windows 2000 mode, I guess it would fix that.
PC is Athlon 750 with Abit KA7, using default settings. (driverpack had to be installed)

Unlike previous postings regarding the U1J variant of this display line no problems with lines 2 & 3. If you havent seen a VFD in action you should get one - MUCH BETTER than a LCD!
Driver could be improved however, these displays (and others, Eg Futaba LCD compatibles such as NA204SD02) support software setting of brightness however the instructions to do ths vary between display types. Anyone interested in implementing these changes mail me and I will supply you techincal info of what needs to be done at the VFD end of things.

Hi,
I have a AMD K6-2 500mhz and two LCDs:
a 20x4 and a 40x4 HDD44780. The LCDs are working allright. Your plugin is the best!! I have sugestions:
1. How can I sort my playlists? I can't make they appear alfabeticaly.
2. Is there a way to display the LCD screen and the Simulator screen at the same time, so when I am away from the LCD I can see what's going on in a TV monitor or PC monitor?
3. The playlist selector doesn't work if the playlist name is bigger than the size of the LCD.
4. The name of the songs are cut if it is bigger than the LCD.
5. Make it work with ID Tags v2.
6. Make the Spectrum Analizer work with 40.
That's all for now. Thank a lot Markus.

I've got a Seiko L2014 4X20 that I wired up last night direct to the port and for the most part works great. OS is WinXP. is I get display corruption when I move settings sometimes, but a quick restart of the plugin fixes this. The main feature that corrupts is the spectrum analyser.
Also, scrolling takes about 2 minutes to actually begin. But thats it, best plugin I have found. Most dont work under XP at all or very faulty, yours is superb. Thanks.

note. Got scrolling to work, my boneheaded mistake. However, I do have another minor issue, in that the character that will sroll onto the screen is displayed in the first cell of the 3rd row. Nothing major, just thought I'd mention it. And BTW i am running a 8 bit interface. Forgot to mention that.

Had two problems with the parallel wiring. To get the display to work I had to use the pinout table since there was a conflict with the schematic. It looks like pins 10 and 11 on the LCD go to the wrong pins on the parallel connector. Also, for this display VLc needs to be between +5VDC and -5VDC, not between +5VDC and GND.

Works Fantastic! Pinout was correct as long as you follow the 8bit Dual Chip Guide. I appreaciate the efforts so far. We are going to look at your source and will pass along any mods we come up with. You did an excellent Job!
Thanks Again!

Spectrum analyser on Lines 2 and 4 due to the above because the analyser works on 3 and 4. Couldn't detect a wiring problem.
Menu "/" is also funny because of the above.
Other than the above. It works. Not 100% but ok. I plan to use a Serial Back Pack. Which interface should I use?
