#1 updating of code?

I've downloaded the latest version of lcdpd and
modified the files
so that it fits into a 2.6.0 kernel tree. however the
code itself
(af_cdp.c) wont compile. to be expected as there are a
few new
kernel methods etc.

should I proceed further and/or submit my 2.6 patch to
this project?

..or is there now a user-land CDP daemon and toolset
that i should be looking at instead?
