While i'm a 'lesser' developer in lcd4linux, i do not want to 
impose my concerns and fears to the rest of the community.

Nevertheless, please go for option 2 where the email is concealed
and encripted. It is better to 'trust' another server in which
Gmane trusts then to leave the email addresses ready to be harvested.
