Well, let me put this this way :) RedHat with those Fedoras and all the 
bleeding egde stuff is known to be the Windows of Linux world.

My simple assumption is if it works in this 'crap' it will work almost 
everywhere...

So, dusted, can you provide with more details on your system that is 
currently failing to compile lcd4linux?
