I'll try to integrate it, but not into HD44780.c, but drv_HD44780.c 
(note the drv_ at the beginning). these are the "NextGeneration" 
drivers, but only in CVS

I wondered about these three fine vertical lines, but I suppose this are 
the "heating" or "anode" (kathode?) wires, right?
