[lcd4linux] Subversion and/or autoconf/automake experts wanted

Hi there,

I want to have the current svn repository version (the output of
'svnversion') somehow automagically in the code.

Anyone has ideas about how to do this in a portable way with
autoconf/automake?

This should work with the .tar.gz version, too, where we may not have a
svn client (and therefore no 'svnversion'). Please keep this in mind!
