Hello. This is what i have understood yesterday. I tried to create a ttyUSB0 according to http://www.linux-usb.org/usb.devices.txt but i doesn't work.the kernel doesn't recognise it as a usb-serial device. /dev/tts/USB0 or /dev/usb/tts/0 -> i don't have such devices. Moreover i look at the udev rules and i saw the directories where it creates such devices But i don't have such devices. Nobody is using udev? btw suppose that i disable udev,is there any way to know which /dev/ttyUSB*** belongs to which physical device?I tried to use lsusb -v but i cannot get any info from it. So what can i do please?Does any developer watch this mailing list?Sorry for the bothering i just have to find a solution quickly. I hope you can understand it. Thanks again! --- Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> wrote: > Hi there, > > > root@devel02:/sys/class/usb# ls /dev/usbdev1.2 -al > > > crw-rw---- 1 root root 189, 1 2006-08-29 15:19 > > /dev/usbdev1.2 > > this looks wrong to me. according to /proc devices, > major 189 is > 'usb_device'. > > As far as I know, all Crystalfontz displays use a > usb-to-serial > converter, so the device major number should be 4. > Here with my system, > such devices can be found at /dev/tts/USB0 or > /dev/usb/tts/0 > > HTH, Michael > > -- > Michael Reinelt <re...@eu...> > http://home.pages.at/reinelt > GPG-Key 0xDF13BA50 > ICQ #288386781 > __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
