[lcd4linux] is a periodically change of the configuration possible?

I'm using a 16x2 display. And I'm using my configuration from
/etc/lcd4linux.conf to fill up the two lines.
Is it possible to change the displayed widgets every x seconds? (I know:
its not possible from inside the config file...)
Can I use for this purpose the "-c key=3Dval" flag from commandline? (I
did not find any further description of this flag in manual, faq, wiki
etc)
