[lcd4linux] Python Bindings and liblcd4linux

A while back I actually emailed one of the authors regarding 
liblcd4linux.  I was informed it was still in CVS and primarily created 
to supply Python bindings.

This support no longer seems to be present in CVS, nor is it in the 
latest stable release.  Where has it gone?  I'm interesting in 
developing an LCd based application using Python, and I'd hate to have 
to write my own LCD access library, or even pull the necesary parts to 
create one...
