Maybe the "official" 0.9.11 segfaults because of other side-effects. I'm 
afraid I'm too busy at the moment to debug this one.

Does the CVS version chrash, too? This would be too bad. If so, please 
send me your lcd4linux.conf. If the CVS version works for you - please 
use it.
