[lcd4linux] hardware

Hi

I'm new in this list and i don't have any lcd, i found an article in 
http://www.linuxfocus.org/English/March2003/article286.shtml to make my 
own lcd, does it work right?, could anyone give me some suggestions to 
make my own display?, or where could i  buy lcd's from Matrox Orbital in 
SouthAmerica?
