Yes, of course. The reason why there hasn't been a release for a (too)
long time is that I' _very_ busy at the moment.

You could check out the CVS version, it's quite stable, 0.98 will be
released soon.

I don't have the Linux Magazin, is the article avaliable online?

If you write a driver, could you please work on the CVS version? If you
need assistance with CVS, let me know. If it works on the CVS version,
send me a patch (if you don't know how to create a patch agains CVS, let
me know). I'll check it into CVS, so other people might test it, too.
