Well, I don't think it's a good idea to make the icon number sort of dynamically. Especially when I think of layers, the
hopefully soon coming screens, and maybe some sort of "blending" between different screens and/or layouts.

In general, I think that more and more only graphic displays will be available, and they don't have this problem at all.
