[lcd4linux] Scrolling LCD

Hi All,

Ok so we have upgraded LCD4Linux 0.10.1-756M compiled for Bering UCLIBC

I have a script that run's
lcd4linux -qf /etc/lcd/1.conf
sleeps for 10sec
then kills all pids relating to lcd4linux
then runs the next display
lcd4linux -qf /etc/lcd/2.conf
continues in a loop showing various options

it looks great but I am still getting errors in my syslog file

of course I have to reboot the unit to allow me to start any new processes

Anyone have suggestions ?

You can get rid of the error "removing stale pid file.." by removing the
pid file by hand.

And could you please double-check if there are no mor
lcd4linux-processes running after you killed it?

please try to run it with -qvvf /etc/lcd/1.conf to increase verbose level.

Next check your syslog for "thread started.." and "thread ended..."
messages.

Michael,

An update from my side, I have to apologize for this but after updating 
my version of lcd4linux I never tried using the init.d script to try 
stop the process - just assuming I would need to do it manually - but 
today I tried starting it the way I have been but using the init.d 
script to stop it after each sleep period and so far it looks great.

So again I am sorry for wasting your time - but it has been a learning 
curve so thank you for a great piece of software.

Luis, this version was compiled for me.
