Thank you, that helped a lot.

I think the problem is that 0.98 did not correctly deactivate rdtsc() 
when the corresponding include-file "msr.h" could not be found. This has 
been fixed in the CVS some time ago.

You could either

- use the CVS version

- try to find the file "msr.h" and copy it to /usr/include/asm/msr.h"
