Funny, but I fixed a bug with Crystalfontz displays yesterday, which had
exactly the same reason - bit 7 made a bar blinking. Thanks for
debugging this one!

Ok, but I changed it a bit so it does not modify the passed buffer but
copy it into a loxcal buffer. I modified all other drivers, too.
