Hello Xavier, hello Michael I try to compile it again with the corrected version. It works now! Now its time to play around with this toy. Should the animated icons also work for the HD66712-Model of the HD44780? A first attempt didtn succeed, but i guess ive to much bars in the display. I thank you both for your real nice support. With humans like you both, open-source is just fun - thanks for that! Regards, Andreas |

But he's the only to have this file and he's too busy by now. Here's a workaround, you'll have to modify 3 files : - modify Makefile.am and delete line 80 "plugin_isdn.c \", then type 'automake' (to generate makefile.in) - run configure (don't need for --with-drivers=all,\!isdn, it doesn't work ;) - modify config.h to delete line "#define PLUGIN_ISDN 1" (line 253 for me) - modify Makefile and remove plugin_isdn.o from PLUGIN (l 83, but this may differ), lcd4linux_LDADD (l 91) and lcd4linux_DEPENDENCIES (l 94) - run make, and that's all ;) Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope this will help you ! -- Xavier VELLO <xav...@fr...> |

Hello List ! I try (again) to compile the lcd4linux package, but ive one problem with it. When i try to compile it with make, i get a "No rule to make target 'plugin_isdn.c', needed by 'plugin_isdn.o'. Earlier in configure it say that the isdn_plugin is disabled. I also tried a ./configure --with-plugin='all,\!isdn' but it want to include the isdn_plugin anyway. Any idea? Thanks for any help.. (I cant remember, how i did that before.) =( Regards, Andreas |

Hi List, as you may have noticed, I'm not dead. sorry for my absence in the last weeks, but there are two reasons which eat up all my time: First, my real-world job, where I'm in the end phase at three large projects (in fact, we had the "Go Live!" last weekend at a document management implementation with 150+ seats), and second, a new model airplane :-) I had my talk yesterday at the "Grazer LinuxTage", I will upload the presentation to the lcd4linux web site. My absence will last for another two weeks, until the other two projects have calmed down a bit. As soon as I find some more time for lcd4linux, we should try to release 0.10 as soon as possible! bye, Michael -- Michael Reinelt Tel: +43 676 3079941 Geisslergasse 4 Fax: +43 316 692343 A-8045 Graz, Austria e-mail: re...@eu... |

Hello all ! Here's a patch to make plugin_i2c_sensors work with kernel 2.6.5. In fact, as Javi said, the files are "temp1_input" instead of "temp_input1", so autodetection of sysfs and division didn't work. Please Javi test and Michael, commit ;) Bye ! |

Hello list ! I'm finishing the framework to write documentation for the Next Generation. It will be based on the XSLT technology : articles are xml files with specific tags and helpers to put the layout in. These files look like html files (the same tags are used, plus specific helpers and a lot of information in the <head>). But we'll need some volunteers to write the doc ;) The best case would be that every developer writes the doc for the plugins/drivers he wrote. On the other hand, this would put a lot of the work on Michael's shoulders. So everyone is invited to contribute. Here's a (non limitative) list of what is needed : - every driver - every plugin - installation and configure flags (--with-drivers --with-plugins) - lcd4linux.conf - FAQ / troubleshooting - how to report bugs, very important ! - ... The framework isn't yet finished (mostly the output part), but you can begin to post your intentions about this here. I'll try to finish the framework this WE so that Michael put it in the CVS. Bye ! ---- Xavier PS to Michael : maybe it would be good to put this documentation work in a separate CVS module to put it clear. What do you think about this ? |

Distro developers already announced the "Feature freeze" on the current development tree, but I could include it before last minute. I suggested to add the last stable release (0.9.11) but if the NG version will be more stable and the doc more or less complete and available then I would like to upgrade to the NG version. Hello Zsolt ! IMHO, the best version is the CVS one. But Next Generation is a complete rewrite of almost all the code, so there may be bugs. In the other hand, 0.9.x releases are more stable, even if they aren't maintained. Moreover, NG needs documentation, I'm working on it. So it depends of who his distro is aiming and the previsional release date. If you want to release it in a month, I think doc would be good enough and NG mature enough. Michael, what do you think about it ? ---- Xavier Vello |

Hi developers, I'm inquiring about the status of Next Generation LCD4Linux. I read on lists that you completely rewrote it from scratch. I would like to add it to Devil-Linux distro but I don't know which version to add. Latest release (0.9.11) or cvs version is more stable? I'm personally using the latest release (compiled from source) without problem. I didn't tried the cvs version yet. Please CC: me because I'm not a member of the list. Bye, Zsolt |

Hello list, especially Javier ! I've began to write the dtd and xsl files for a xslt-based framework for documentation. The tarball contains : dtd/doc.dtd <- the dtd for the documentation format tmp/example.xml <- an example file, process with 'xsltproc xsl/doc.xsl tmp/example.xml > tmp/example.html' xsl/*.xsl <- the xsl files, the main one is doc.xsl which includes all the others. This is a 'technology preview', so don't expect it to do somethink useful ;) For the moment, it generates good xhtml code, which needs a css file, and there are a lot of unimplemented tags in info. Moreover, we 'll have to define all the xhtml tags we want in the dtd and the xhtml.xsl file, so it'll be quite long. What do you think about this ? Bye ! |

Yes ! In fact I'm running 2.6.5 too, but is my power supply is dying, I had to remove pci cards and my display, so I didn't notice the bug :/ It's fixed with this patch, Michael, you know what you've to do ;) To problem is know, do all sensors have a temp_input1/temp1_input ? Hi Xavier, hi all. I've just upgraded from kernel 2.6.3 to 2.6.5 and plugin_i2c fails to detect the correct path to my sensors. Now, sensor status is written to temp1_input, temp2_input, ... so the plugin fails beacuse it tries to open temp_input1, temp_input2,... I think code shoul be changed in order to detect path and read temp correctly. Bye |

Hi Jerry > I played around with the docbook source and got it to export to > html using xsl. Is this what you were looking for? See: In fact the file we need to be processed with xsltproc isn't a bare html file, there will not be head, and not too much tags. And docbook isn't a good choice to get html, get the source ;) I think we need : - <h1> <h2> and others 'headings', which won't be interpreted by xsltproc, but correspond to css styles. - <code> <conf> <link> <image> which will be processed by xsltproc and be replaced by xhtml code. - other html formating tags (<b> <i> <ul> <li> <table> and others) not processed, like <h*>. I'll try to think about the complete set of tags and rewrite the manpage to give and example. Bye ! ----- Xavier |
