[Lcd-linux] lcd over gpio

Hi all,
I find this pretty good driver and I believe that a valuable feature
that should be added is a gpio extension.

a arch specific improvement is proposed but using a gpio [1]
implementation can be portable between different system.

There is some intention to add it?
