[Lcd-linux-users] Problem with hd44780 compatible display

Hi everybody !

I've got a problem with a hd44780 compatible display running lcd4linux. 
I've already installed and configured.
Everything looks fine. The displays shows the configured informations.

Now to the problem.

My display has the format : 16 x 4

First and second line are ok but third and fourth line start writing on 
position 5. So it seems that there are 4 spaces in front of everything 
in this lines.

I've already found something on google, that hd44780.c has to be 
patched. But I don't really know how.

Could you help me about this issue ?
