i think the implementation of magic words, like
slickrun does, will make launchy FAR MORE great.
What i mean by magic words:

Assign a personal word for example: "dos" for command
"cmd". Whenever i type dos, cmd should come up. Other
example when i type "c:" the c: folder opens, or when i
type "dota" i want to play "Warcraft3: Frozen Throne"

In addition to that you can assign: reboot and make pc
reboot logoff shutdown etc.

But the MOST IMPORTANT feature in magic words is
assigning them for the first time. It would be a pain
in the neck if the assignment of them would be boring.
Slickrun does it so:
when you drag a shortcut or a file on it, it opens the
magic word create wizard and what you have to do is
type the magic word and press enters. so simple.

I think launchy has to learn much from slickrun

I've been thinking something like this... but I've imagined
something easier. First we type the "magic word" with and
"Equal". After this we type as usual looking for the file
that we wish to link with the "magic word". An example
    could be like this:

We want to link Microsoft Word with de "magic word" "Write".
Then we start typing at Launchy:

    Write=

At the beginning Launchy work as usual, looking for a file
that match with the word "Write", but when we type the equal
sign, Lauchy should stop and wait for the rest:

    Write=Microsoft Word

After the equal sign Launchy should begin to work as usual
looking for the file that match with "Microsoft Word". After
hit Enter, Lauchy should record this asociation so the next
time we just type Write and the program should show us
    Microsoft Word.

I Think that it could be the same than we add a shortcut of
Microsodt Word at the Utillities folder of Lauchy, but with
the name "Write", but my solution seems to be handy. Inside
Lauchy could simple do just this. Create a shorcut of the
file on a special folder with the "magic word" as name.

I'll love to see this option on the next version.

shaggystyle's suggestion seems very useful. I was thinking
of something similar. But my suggestion is a bit different.

For example, to launch MS Word, one would instinctively type
"word". But in my case, this is what Launchy suggests:

    http://img282.imageshack.us/img282/806/worduw9.png

I understand why it does that, but it would be nice if
Launchy remembered that I used "word" to launch MS Word, so
next time it would remember that it is more likely that I
mean MS Word when I type "word". Same happens with words
like "paint" (for MSPaint/Paint Shop Pro).

This would greatly enhance this application
