As I can see how many files that has been indexed in
the directories dialog, it would be nice to forec a
re-index from that dialog. Now I have to set up all the
directories, close dialog, re-index, open up dialog and
see how many it has indexed.
Hmm. It's easy enough to do, but I'm not sure I want to
clutter the directories dialog any more than I already have.
Why does it matter how many files you have indexed?

Your Why question leads me to a follow up question: If it
doesnt matter how many files I have indexed then why is it
displayed? :)
But, the reason I wanted to have it is that I had troubles
with adding file types to the directories. I wrote *.lnk,
and I couldnt understand why it wouldnt work. The result was
that I entered the file types (*.lnk), closed the dialog,
re-indexed, opened the dialog to see how many files it had
indexed. In this case it was only for finding out if
something worked or not. A button next to the number of
indexed files, would helped me so I wouldnt have to
close/open the dialog.
If clutter is your problem, then you should remove the
number of indexed files and the Default buttons. They
wrecked my working setup to many times, without asking me a
question if it could erase ALL my settings.
Perhaps you could put all options into one tabbed dialog, so
I can change skins/advanced/directories in one go.
In a tab dialog you could have:
* Status (number of indexed files, etc) - With a re-index button
* Directories
* Skins
* Advanced settings
