The algorithm is very strange. If I want to search
for firefox, I type FIRE, and it shows me "feeding
freenzy", that doesn't have any match with the
keyword FIRE, so I have to keep typing, until firefox
appears. The list of results should be ordered
alphabetically too, for example I'm searching for The
Sopranos S03, it should show "S03E01", then "S03E02",
but it shows "S03E06", then "S03E12", and so on.
Bottom line: It transforms the keyword into wildcards
and somehow it shuffles the results.

I agree, having an option to make the searching more strict
or only match the whole string you typed and not letter by
letter would be a great addition.

I've noticed that when I want to run iTunes i type IT and
the first choice is Microsoft Outlook 2007 (beta). The
second choice is iTunes. Every time I have to go down and
choose iTunes. So I agree the search algorithm is strange
and needs to be improved.
Also, it should learn that when I type IT that I want
iTunes. I should have to go down each time. It should be
an adaptive search that learns my preferences.

This is something which bothers me as well. Actually it is the only annoying behaviour of launchy. I'd really like an option to turn fuzzy matching off.
