#60 Not all matches for a string are displayed

It appears that if you are indexing many directories,
urls, exe etc and you have more than 10 matches for a
string the results are filtered. This is problematic
because there is no way to get to the desired
shortcut. When entering an exact string match for a
directory it is never displayed for me due to non
exact matches.

I am indexing:

.directory
.exe
.lnk
.url

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, but perhaps this
explanation will help to sort things out.

    1) Launchy only keeps track of 1 instance of each name. So
for blah.mp3 and blah.ogg and blah.doc, only one blah file
will be indexed, and it will be the first that Launchy comes
across. This happens with directories as well. It's a
problem and I'm trying to find a way to fix it.

    2) Launchy only displays 10 results for each match. This is
mostly to keep things sane. A resultant list of 10,000
matching items is both slower and pretty much useless. So,
if the list of 10 doesn't match, keep on adding characters
    until it does.

I hope this makes things a bit clearer. And hopefully I can
find a way to make Launchy even more user friendly.

I think that explanation makes sense. I definetley suffer
from #1 (multiple directories with the same name but in
different paths). I'd love a way where you could see the
directory matches based on the path name.

As for #2, I think it's fine that you filter the selection,
the problem is that sometimes I type in an exact string
match for the directory and it does not display in the
results list because there are 10 shortcuts that have
partial matches to the entered string. Not sure if that
    makes sense.

Say I search for "Foo" and I have a folder named "Foo".
well often I will find that the result list will contain
many matches with permutations of "foo" in them but will
not get the directory that I want "Foo". Enterting more
characters doesn't help in this case :-).

Yes, I've run into the same problem myself. It's pretty
irritating. It's time that Launchy showed the full path
along with the filename. I just need to find a good way to
    do it.
