i have 4 hard drives and 3 of them are only for data storage and stay in power saving mode most of the time! now i have set the index time to 960 minutes, but what would be great is a "index on startup" option.. this way i would have all the latest data indexed (once a day is more than enough for me) and also the hard drives won't be woken from "sleep mode" unnecessarily! since the hard drives are "awake" on system start anyway this should solve my problem..
also a option to "index X minutes after startup" would be great, since otherwise the boot time will increase somewhat! after X (i.e. 10) minutes the anti-virus and firewall software should have done all startup scans and launchy can index without slowing down the system..
and since winxp does "wake" the hard drives all the time for no good reason (like when entering "add/remove software") this would really lessen the burden of trying to save some electricity... also this would be great for use on notebooks where hard drives are powered down more frequently! thx!
