Is there a "best practice" for keeping a directory with links / shortcuts to commonly needed directories, and pointing Launchy to it ?
There's one problem that if I place a link (.lnk) to a directory in some directory Launchy sees, it won't be able to dive into it recursively, like it could for normal directories. Is there a way to solve it ?

You're mistaken - Launchy can do that. Try it by calling up Launchy, typing 'my documents', and then hitting the tab key. I didn't know it myself, until someone corrected me here in the forums.
That "My Documents" shortcut is one of the default lnk files that comes with Launchy, located in:
I like to put shortcuts that I create just for Launchy in the C:\Program Files\Launchy\Utilities folder (which is a pain on Vista with UAC enabled - you have to create the shortcuts somewhere outside of the Program Files folder and then move them there).
Cheers,
Joe
