Been running it for months but, a few weeks ago, I rebooted and all the settings were back to defaults and the database was cleared. I re-entered everything but it did the same thing a few times. I tried alternative softwares but Launchy is the best fit for what I want to do so would like to get this cleared up.
1) Any idea what might be causing it?
2) How can I back up the settings so that I can restore them if it happens again?

Launchy does like to lose settings. For me, it usually happens after a BSOD/incorrect shutdown.
The settings are kept in launchy.ini. It can be found in %appdata%\Launchy or %programfiles(x86)%\Launchy if portable mode is selected.
It's enough to make a copy of that one file for a backup.
