Launchy using Chrome or IE bookmarks

I was under the impression Launchy used Chrome bookmarks, but a review of the options  seems to indicate it uses IE9 bookmarks in which case if Chrome is my default browser, saving a bookmark there would be pointless.  Can anyone confirm this?

If I understand you correctly, you're half right. Launchy indexes Internet Explorer or Firefox bookmarks, and does not support indexing Chrome bookmarks. However, Launchy opens those bookmarks the default browser, be it IE, Chrome, Opera, Iron, Safari, or whatever.

There are a couple of options for workarounds:
    1. You can manually export your Chrome bookmarks to an html file, then import them into Internet Explorer.
    2. You can use a program called Transmute to copy your Chrome bookmarks to IE. It's really simple and pretty fast, and the free version should be enough:
    3. You could install the Xmarks extensions for both Chrome and Internet Explorer, set up your account and run it in Chrome, then set it up and run it in IE:

In the above cases, after you add new bookmarks in Chrome, you'll have to re-synchronize your IE bookmarks before Launchy can index them.

    4. Alternatively, you can try a forum member's patched Weby.dll that adds the ability to index Chrome bookmarks:

Thanks so much. I'm delighted that it saves it as IE bookmarks and can launch in Chrome. That way no need to import!
