I'm using WinXP SP2 with auto updates and all.
For some reason, after every restart/program crash
Launchy loses its settings (I use it with quite a few
directories and settings) and returns to its default
values, including screen placement and skin.
It's ok now. Probably some local thing. Even though
nothing's really changed on my system, aside from all sorts
of minor version updates and such.
Bizarre, isn't it?

I have the same problem. Every time I reboot my system, Launchy loses all previous knowledge of files, directories, etc, and reverts to the default settings.

This has happened to me three times now since I installed Launchy 1.0.0 about two weeks ago. I'm on Windows XP SP2. This is so annoying. I don't know what makes it happen but it only happens after a restart - not during a session.
Any clue about what it could be?

I also come to this problem.
I'm using Win XP SP2 too.
It returns to its default settings of directories.I don't know when it will do it.It looks like that it don't have any law.

The same thing happens to me. Not every time, but sometimes when I restart my computer it resets everything to the default settings, and I have to keep training it (for example, "fir" for firefox and "class" for firstclass). It happens randomly and resets the skin as well.

This has started happening to me with Win XP SP3 and all updates, using Launchy 2.12. I thought development had slowed down, but have just updated to 2.5. Will watch that, while keeping backups of the Launchy settings folder (%appdata%\launchy , which Windows Explorer couldn't find before, go figure). One possible element is that I have a ginormous documents drive (between 1 and 2 gig), have Launchy indexing tons of documents, and folders, as well as all %windows%\ for *.cpl and *.msc. ... the database is currently 87 Kb (surely not too big), with over 3300 items in the catalog.
Will update this bug if I see it recur in 2.5.

Hi, not sure if Launchy is in active development, but I am also encountering this bug. My settings get wiped every time my Windows 10 system crashes. Luckily I don't have too many custom settings, and I gather they can be backed up...but it's still annoying to have to reset my skin and add catalog items.

Does this still happen? Do you have any files in the
launchy\users\ directory?

I have this problem all the time also but I'm not sure what triggers it. Every so often I notice that my ini file has been reset to the default.

This often happens to me if Launchy or windows crashes, with version 2.5.0. (Though it doesn't happen if I just kill Launchy with the task manager.)
