I have heard that Launch Code may not contain the whole feature set that was originally planned, because the developers are more interested in their new project. I was really looking forward to this game, so please, "Say it ain't so!"

Hey, pantelope, no need to fear.  While we may be clearing out some features, it will only be to make room for newer, better, faster, stronger features.

For instance you can rest assured the random map generator will still be intact, and also we're keeping all of the awesome weapons from the current version.  There really isn't anything else, except the combat system, which will probably be overhauled.

Also we may actually have to make the map ascii text because we are using copyrighted images.  You can address a post to roflberg to see what direction he is planning on heading with the graphic engine.  And we are working on getting a graphic designer onto the project so we don't have to roll with the ascii art.  Although we may go with a sweet 3D ascii art theme which ties together the modern and retro tastes.

What specific features are you worried about losing?

Thanks for your support, glad to see you are as excited as we are about the game.

oh hey man. glad to hear it. I don't know if 3D ascii art would be better, or just to hire an illustrator who can draw cool pictures, maybe cartoony with big words drawn on it when something happens like batman. just a thought.

Yeah, that idea is kind of win.  The GD we are working on is actually an illustrator, so maybe he can pull it off.  He'd probably prefer that.
