Hi, dantaro. Do you want to tell us a little bit about your experience and how you might benefit the project best? We are looking for people with creative ideas on weaponry and experience coding in Java using HashMaps as the only Object in your code.

I've been a professional java developer for just about 3 months now. I'm experienced in using Hashmaps, though if I might propose something: Why not use HashMaps of HashMaps? That could be used to improve overall readability of code!

HashMaps of HashMaps? Brilliant! Also, do you have a computer? It's hard to contribute to the project without one - I've been trying to get a computer for quite some time now, and it's definitely making it hard to work on the game. :(

Yeah, a computer will definitely help. roflberg literally uses graph paper to write code with. It's great for indentation, but violates RESTful principles.

Hmm. I think these ideas do sound decent. This is a very fast-paced project with a large, complex code base. Dantaro - it won't be easy… there will be quite a learning curve in getting up to speed with the code. Are you sure you have the time and willingness to commit to working on the game?

This is not good. I hope he is not just sharing weapon ideas with Blizzard. I hope it's the other way around.
PS it's probably good to mention Starcraft II and Blizzard a lot so when people are searching on Google they will be able to find the FREE version of Launch Code and Disateroids instead of the $60 Blizzard version of Starcraft II. Also it's good to say FREE a lot to help with SEO.

Look ok lets not start a flame war here. dantaro I really think you could add a lot but your commitment does seem questionable. And I can't have infighting among the dev team, so you and roflberg are going to have to get along. Remember he is a senior dev here, so although you might be right, sometimes you just have to bite your tongue..

Just looking for an update :)

I DO have a computer. It has a sweet Intel 486 processor and runs the NeXTSTEP OS!

Dantaro, maybe you could give us some suggestions on new weapon ideas. You can see some current ideas in the works. Title and description are what we are focused on here: http://launchcode.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/launchcode/src/com/launchcode/game/entities/ships/Weapon%20Ideas.txt?view=markup&pathrev=27
PS Can NeXTSTEP run java?
How about the sweet "No_Digity" (No doubt, Dre drop the beat)
or the "Stack Trace" (Or GTFO).
Or maybe the "Billy Mays" (BILLY MAYS HERE WITH A WAY TO KICK SOMEONE'S ASS)
And if NeXTSTEP can't, I'll make it!
Rofl, what do you think? I have IRC'ed with dantaro a bit and I think he has some good ideas and maybe can bring on another developer.
I think if he can get another developer to post here applying for access, we should grant him developer status. Agree?

No reply yet huh. kghastie - I'm concerned that dantaro not be entirely devoted to the project. What do you think?
Yeah wtf is he watching starcraft screencasts or something? Maybe he's trying to steal some ideas…..
Darn. He had a computer and everything, but I just don't think we can rely on him if he's already flaking out during the interview…

GDI guys. GDI.
Graphical Device Interface?
I'm not sure what he means by that, kghastie. Maybe he has poor communication skills.
LOL thats what I was going to say.. Well, dantard, did you come up with any new ideas? Or were you hanging out trying to look for new devs?
My ideas are simply too high level for you guys. I'll make my OWN project and destroy your puny project!
LOL - good luck with that, dantard!
I'm sorry. :(
Can I still use your computer? I only need to use it like once a week or so. Please??
I dunno, you really hurt me Roflberg.
kghastie - let's make him a developer on a trial basis. What do you think?

k. I'll be civil if he will.
