hey, has anyone messed with getting the modem working under linux? I did a little when I first got it, looks like a pctel, but the only working pctel driver at the time was for 2.4 kernels only. I don't particularly need it (although it's handy on the road, not that I travel much), but others may, and it would be cool if it worked. Anyone know anything about it? -- Abe Al-Saleh And then came the Apocolypse. It actually wasn't that bad, everyone got the day off and there were barbeques all around. |

Which model are you using? Do you know if it's the same as the 3150? lspci tells me I have an AC97 modem. 00:11.6 Communication controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. Intel 537 [AC97 Modem] (rev 80) Subsystem: TWINHEAD INTERNATIONAL Corp: Unknown device 1005 Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 10 I/O ports at e000 [size=256] Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2 Hmm... my video card and network card seem to be on the same IRQ. Not to go OT, but is this an issue? What's up with that? yeah, looks like the same one: 00:11.6 Communication controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. I had to set Option "DisableIRQ" "True" in my xorg.conf device section, I think most people have had to. This is of course on the 3220, not sure about the model you're using. I haven't had to disable IRQ's on my ProSavageDDR-based 3150P. There's been plenty of fun getting it to work, but no IRQ fun :-) On Wed, 23 Mar 2005 13:20:44 -0700, Abraham Al-Saleh <als...@gm...> wrote: > yeah, looks like the same one: > > > 00:11.6 Communication controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. If it helps at all, Linspire seemed to detect my modem back when they released a free version for OSNews readers. They have a live CD that might be able to point a couple things out.
